Adapter provides safe power when traveling

Savvy owners of larger yachts carry an adapter in case the marina they’re visiting can’t provide matching shore power output. For vessels with 100-amp, 125/250 AC electricity, Hubbell Marine’s YQ100PLUS Intelligent Y Adapter is the perfect tool to have onboard. It allows the user to connect the vessel to one or two 50A dockside receptacles safely without any loss of onboard functionality.


The YQ100PLUS uses innovative internal logic to safely deliver power, even if only one 50-amp receptacle is available. In this case, the “A” leg plug of the adapter will bring 50-amp, 250V AC power aboard while the other cord remains safely inactive. It additionally verifies one or both receptables are the correct phase.

The YQ100PLUS features bright integrated lights that indicate if the dockside polarity is correct for adequate voltage and if the power is flowing. They also alert the owners if one of the two plugs isn’t properly engaged to safeguard against a dangerously live, but disconnected, cord end.


Built for extreme use, the internal components remain dry and protected in a UV- and impact-resistant housing. Sealing grommets keep moisture out, while molded plug terminals with cord clamps provide a solid, secure connection to dockside inlets.
