VoltSafe Selected to Join Port of San Diego’s Blue Economy Portfolio to Power the Future of Sustainable Marinas

Voltsafe Join Port of San Diego

Aug 19, 2025

VoltSafe Inc., has announced that it has been selected to join The Port of San Diego’s Blue Economy Incubator and will receive $250,000 USD for an extensive pilot program in one of the world’s most important marina markets. The Port of San Diego will also provide VoltSafe with significant business development and marketing efforts, public relations and media visibility as part of this new partnership.

“The Port of San Diego’s Blue Economy Incubator is a global first, and partnering with them signals more than a milestone, it’s proof that VoltSafe’s patented shore power hardware and SaaS platform isn’t just raising the bar, it’s rewriting the standard,” said VoltSafe CEO & Co-Founder, Trevor Burgess. “Legacy solutions can’t deliver the environmental, economic, and social returns we can. As the marine industry races toward smarter, low-carbon infrastructure, this collaboration positions VoltSafe at the center of that transformation. Together with the Port’s forward-thinking team, we’re not just keeping pace with change, we’re driving it, and scaling it, across the global waterfront economy.”

The Port of San Diego is committed to fostering the development of a sustainable ocean economy by acting as a catalyst for the region’s Blue Economy. The Port’s Blue Economy Incubator is building a portfolio of businesses and partnerships that deliver multiple social, environmental, and economic benefits to the Port and the region by removing barriers to entrepreneurs and providing funding, key assets, support services including entitlement and permitting assistance, and pilot project facilitation.

“Innovation doesn’t happen in isolation, it’s powered by people with vision, creativity and courage to challenge the status quo,” said Chair Danielle Moore, Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners. “Through our Blue Economy Incubator, the Port of San Diego is proud to support forward-thinking entrepreneurs who are turning bold ideas into real-world solutions and creating a more sustainable waterfront for all.”

As one of the world’s largest recreational boating hubs and a global leader in clean-tech adoption, Southern California is a critical market for VoltSafe. Success here not only drives immediate commercial opportunities but also positions VoltSafe for rapid expansion into other high-demand coastal regions worldwide.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
