Boating Ontario’s Swing Into Action Golf Tournament Tees Up Big Wins for MarineWorx Development Fund

September 16, 2025
Boating Ontario Association hosted another Swing Into Action Golf Tournament on August 26, 2025, welcoming members, sponsors, and special guests to the scenic Bear Creek Golf Course.
The annual event combined friendly competition, networking, and industry pride – all in support of the MarineWorx Development Fund.
Players enjoyed unique on-course experiences, a variety of hole takeovers and skill competitions.
BOA thanks all sponsors, volunteers, and attendees for making this year’s tournament a hole-in-one for Ontario’s boating industry.
CEO Rick Layzell reminded attendees of the MarineWorx Development Fund’s direct impact:
“Over the last 12 months, MarineWorx has put over $40,000 directly into the pockets of our members – supporting everyone from CPYB sales professionals to marina managers in training and marine technicians at every stage of their careers.”
Despite a challenging 2025 boating season marked by market uncertainty, Layzell emphasized resilience and forward planning:
“We are here, closing out the summer strong, preparing for the 68th Toronto International Boat Show, and setting the stage for 2026 market recovery. Our job is to be ready when the consumer says ‘YES.’”
Looking ahead, BOA will participate in Level Up! Skilled Trades Fairs this fall, offering members incentives to engage with over 40,000 students. December will see the Annual Conference at Blue Mountain under the theme Reigniting Growth: Fueling Our Future, followed by the Toronto International Boat Show in January 2026.
The day concluded with prize presentations, raffles (including a Chilly Moose cooler), and a reminder to travel home safely. Layzell closed by thanking all attendees for their continued support:
“Your participation today helps us invest in training, advocacy, and the future of Ontario’s boating industry. See you at Conference!”
