YANMAR Marine International Introduces Extended Warranty Program

March 10, 2026

YANMAR Marine International (YMI) introduces an extended warranty program for its powerboat engines. The ‘two plus three-year’ coverage makes for one of the most competitive warranties offered on the market.

This move brings YANMAR’s powerboat warranty in line with its existing sailboat engine coverage and underscores its commitment to reliability and enhances customer confidence.

The extended 2+3-year warranty applies to private owners of recreational powerboats and covers YANMAR’s 4LV, 8LV, and 6LY common rail series. The update represents an additional three years of coverage compared to the previous offering.

In addition, all spare parts are now covered for up to 24 months by YANMAR Marine International for parts which are installed by an authorized YANMAR Dealer. Over counter sales will be covered by 12 months limited warranty.

Furthermore, YANMAR offers extended warranty programs for engines installed in Commercial and Charter Applications, delivering enhanced coverage designed to match the real-world demands of diverse operators focusing on uptime and reliability. This specific 2+1 warranty program covers YANMAR’s YM-series, JH-series, 4LV, 8LV, and 6LY common rail series.

The enhanced coverage delivers tangible benefits for end users and long-term reassurance, whilst also strengthening the value and reliability for YANMAR’s 2,000+ strong global dealer network across 130 countries. Conditions apply, refer to the Limited Warranty Handbook as per the YANMAR website.

Jasper Stienstra, Global Aftersales Manager at YANMAR Marine International, said: “Extending our powerboat engine warranty program to five years for private customers is a clear statement of YANMAR’s confidence in the engineering, durability, and real-world performance of our products. We build engines to work and last, and this warranty gives boat owners unmatched peace of mind from day one. At the same time, it empowers our global dealer network with a compelling proof of quality and reliability, strengthening trust, loyalty, and long-term relationships across the entire YANMAR community. It is a clear win for everyone involved.”
