2025 Annapolis Sailboat Show Closes with Strong Attendance, Industry Momentum

October 21, 2025

The 2025 Annapolis Sailboat Show concluded after four days of impressive crowds, vibrant programming, and sustained industry momentum. Held Oct. 9–12 at Annapolis City Dock, the internationally recognized event once again served as a dynamic meeting ground for sailing enthusiasts, marine professionals, and new boaters.

Despite a forecast that tempered Sunday attendance and delivered challenging winds, overall turnout remained strong. Exhibitors across the docks reported increased interest and healthy sales, signaling continued growth and engagement in the sailing sector.

“Honestly, it’s got to be the busiest, most people we’ve ever had,” said Larry Graf with Aspen Power Catamarans—debuting their carbon tender. “Lots of people and lots of buyers. Great. It was great. It’s a good show.”

“This year, we were literally packed from morning till night,” echoed Kevin O’Connor from Nautor Swan, highlighting the consistent buyer traffic across multiple days.

Among the show’s standout features was the debut of Refit My Ride, a live multi-day refit demonstration conducted in partnership with Oakcliff Sailing. The hands-on activation showcased the transformation of a well-traveled Farr 40—Blue—into a race-ready vessel. Featuring expert-led hardware installation and upgrades using products donated by show exhibitors, the demonstration underscored a commitment to sustainability, marine education, and the long-term stewardship of existing fleets. Participating partners included Harken, Annapolis Rigging Company, Marlow Ropes, Interlux, Awlgrip, Defender Industries, and several others.

Popular show programs also drew record engagement. First Sail workshops and on-the-water demo sails introduced newcomers to sailing fundamentals, while free daily seminars—covering topics from offshore cruising to weather forecasting—played to capacity audiences throughout the weekend.

“Yesterday for us, it was the busiest day in our history,” reported the Helly Hansen Main Street manager, Cameron Kennedy. “We love a little rain and a little chill in the air—it makes us very busy.”

The show also featured Cruisers University, Cruisers Creating Content, and Vacation Basin, each contributing to a robust schedule designed to educate, inspire, and connect members of the sailing community.

Annapolis Boat Shows extends its sincere appreciation to the City of Annapolis for pausing the City Dock construction project during show days, ensuring an optimal experience for attendees and exhibitors alike.

“We are proud to produce a show that continues to elevate the industry, welcome new sailors, and support the greater boating community,” said Sheila Jones, General Manager of Annapolis Boat Shows. “The energy on the docks this year was outstanding.”

Good Advice that You Can Share – The Art of Anchoring

Unless a boat is secured, it will drift away. If it cannot be attached to something secure, such as a dock, piling, mooring buoy, tree, or boulder, it must be anchored. There is much more to anchoring than simply tossing the anchor over the side.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
