SIR BEN AINSLIE PRAISES BRITISH SUPERYACHT APPRENTICES
Gold medal winning Olympian, Sir Ben Ainslie, celebrated the achievements of 49 apprentices from the superyacht sector at the recent British Marine Federation’s (BMF) Apprenticeship Graduation (Tuesday 16 September). Those graduating have all successfully finished their apprenticeships with members of Superyacht UK, a group association of the BMF.

BENETEAU PRESENTS TOP GUN AWARD TO BLANCHE MORGAN AT ANNAPOLIS
At the Beneteau dealer meetings held at the US Sail show on Annapolis, Blanche Morgan on Anchor Yacht Sales of Port Credit Ontario was presented with both The Top Gun Award for highest sales volume for Beneteau Yachts in North America but also the top sales person for the sales of boats under 40 feet. Blanche received both trophies and the honourary Pain Killer from Group Beneteau.

MARTIN MEISSNER ASSUMES MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS ROLE FOR ZF’S NON-AUTOMOTIVE BUSINESS IN NORTH AMERICA.
The Industrial Technology division of the ZF Group is pleased to announce that Martin Meissner has assumed the position of Marketing and Communications Manager for North America.Meissner, currently the Marketing and Communications Manager for ZF’s Marine business in North America, will now be responsible for all facets of marketing related activities in North America for the Industrial Technology division.

IBEX 2014 REPORTS 47 PERCENT INCREASE IN ATTENDANCE
Organizers of the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) announced today the 2014 event, which took place in Tampa, FL September 30 through October 2, attracted 6,900 attendees, a 47 percent increase compared to 2013. IBEX, the industry’s premier trade show, drew marine industry professionals from around the globe to learn about and explore the newest in marine innovation from 558 exhibiting companies – a 15 percent increase in exhibitor participation compared to the 2013 show.

RECORD NUMBERS OF EXHIBITORS HEADING FOR METS 2014
With just five weeks to go before METS 2014 begins on Tuesday 18 November, a record number of 1331 companies have registered to attend as exhibitors in the Amsterdam RAI complex. VOLVO PENTA EARNS 11TH CONSECUTIVE NMMA CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AWARD
Volvo Penta has received its 11th consecutive CSI award for excellence in customer satisfaction in marine sterndrive engines. The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) presented the award to Volvo Penta at the 2014 International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in Tampa, Fla., Sept. 30.

Victron Energy has launched its new battery balancer. Not all batteries are created equal, and when multiple batteries are combined to create one large battery bank, the small differences between the batteries can cause problems that substantially shorten the life time. The announcement occurred yesterday during the annual Industry Breakfast at the 2014 International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in Tampa, FL.
