VOLVO PENTA NAMES NEW DIRECTOR OF MARKETING FOR AMERICAS

Volvo Penta of the Americas today announced the appointment of Marcelo Puscar as director of marketing. 

Puscar will be responsible for managing and implementing a strategic marketing plan that builds, promotes and communicates Volvo Penta’s brand, products and services in the marine and industrial market sectors. He will report directly to Ron Huibers, president of Volvo Penta of the Americas.

Previously director of marine sales for Latin America, Puscar is relocating from Volvo Penta Brazil to the company’s headquarters in Chesapeake, Va. He has more than 15 years of experience in the marine and automotive industries in sales, strategic and management positions. Prior to joining Volvo Penta he was commercial director for a large boat group in Brazil.

“Marcelo brings to this new position a wealth of experience in marine and industrial markets,” Huibers commented. “As director of marketing for all the Americas, he will help us achieve our goal of more tightly integrating our North and South American operations.”

“I look forward to meeting with boat builders, dealers and media at the 2015 Miami International Boat Show this month,” said Puscar. “I will work closely with our Volvo Penta team, OEM and distribution partners to develop strategies and programs to convey the uniqueness of the Volvo Penta brand and support their sales efforts throughout the Americas region.”

BC Ferries vessel Queen of Surrey is expected to remain out of commission until the end of the month, according to BC Ferries.

The vessel, which has been in service for more than 40 years, was pulled from the Horseshoe Bay to Langdale service on January 1st to undergo repairs to its propulsion system.
