Gill, maker of technical and lifestyle apparel for anglers, announces the hiring of a new sales agency, Canada Pro Angling & Outdoors. The partnership will help Gill build brand awareness in the fishing and lifestyle markets and expand its marine dealer base in Canada, both crucial parts of its strategy in North America.

Impressed by the firm’s strong portfolio of brands and extensive relationships in the Canadian fishing industry, Gill Fishing partnered with Canada Pro in late 2020. Gill Marine has enjoyed strong success in Canada, and Canada Pro’s familiarity with the brand will help Gill Fishing leverage that success as it brings new products and technology to the market.

“Gill has focused exclusively on the Marine business within Canada.  We needed a group that has built a strong portfolio of brands and could seamlessly add Gill into their stable of vendors.  Canada is home to some of the best fishing on the planet, and we needed an agency that could get us access to these dealers,” says Tom Houston, sales director for Gill North America. “Greg Shewchuk, the owner of Canada Pro Angling and Outdoors, has spent a lot of time sailing and wearing Gill’s apparel.  He is incredibly familiar with our brand and its marine range.”

Gill“It’s a pleasure for our team to be involved with such a well-respected brand. Gill is a premium product, and the quality of the product and attention to detail speaks for itself,” says Greg Shewchuk, owner of Canada Pro.

Gill Marine, a global leader in marine apparel, launched Gill Fishing in 2018 to meet a growing demand for durable and reliable technical apparel to protect anglers from the worst elements.

An anchoring system has two parts: the anchor itself and the rode which connects the anchor to the boat. To be effective, an anchor must have good holding power, and the rode must be strong enough to withstand the strains that are put on it.
